Projects
The fifth Gospel is a web project put together from photos and memories from a 2015 Israel/Palestine Tour.
The conversation game was designed and created by Joshua Wheeler in collaboration with the students of the Shimokita English Conversation group in order to assist Japanese students to converse about several different topics in an easy egalitarian game format.
Other Projects:
Teaching American Conversation
January 2011 to 2013
These lessons I’ve made are related to a book titled English The American Way: A Fun ESL Guide to language and culture in the U.S. Originally the book was designed as a self-study book for any student studying American English as a second language, but I adapted lessons from the book and turned it into a curriculum for an Adult English Language Learning class.
Strategies for Teaching and Related Technology
September 2012 to November 2012
This was a presentation project created for the 2012 Self Development Conference for Japanese Teachers of English and Assistant Language Teachers. The goal of this project was to teach Japanese teachers and their assistants about various aspects of classroom-use technology. For example this presentation covered the uses of technology and how it could be effective in the classroom, how to easily and quickly set-up and take down technology, as well as comparing the pros and cons of different forms of digital resources other then computers (i.e. Tablets, Smart-phones, etc.). This presentation was taught by me in both Japanese and English to an audience of 30+ people and included a demonstration.
Lessons in American English
October 2011 to 2013
This project is series of presentations (or presentation template) created in order to adapt the English as a second language textbook: English The American Way (designed as a self-study book) into a lesson curriculum for a three times a month, three-month course on the common American English dialect to Japanese in a weekly English conversation class. All the presentations were designed and presented and explained in both Japanese and in English.
